Any chance that you could have a look at this chunky seal which came out on a recent club dig in East Kent. It has the remains of at least one wire through it so I presume that it is a bag seal of some sort. It looks 19th or 20thC to me.

The raised script seems to be SF on one side with a squiggle across the top and some symbols on the other side. I suspect that it it might be a locally produced one so I'm not really expecting it to be pinned down precisely but it would be helpful to know if you've seen anything remotely like it.

So far only the Medway History Finders Rally on Sheppey over the August Bank Holiday. Mostly because it's an easy drive for me so I don't have to suffer camping (ever again :D ).

Found this the other day. I originally thought it was a button. The ship looks like the one on a ship ha'penny, but the material is wrong and it's too thick. I've also been told it may be a bag seal of some sort. It's about 1.5cm diameter.

Pretty sure it’s a cloth seal so I’ve added it to this topic so Stu, our resident expert, is notified and he takes a look. There are, of course, other brilliant ID’ers on here who might jump in first though :thumbsup:
