I was invited out to a friends permission yesterday and he found what he thought was a penny as it is that size but when he cleaned it, it turned out to be a token or medallion. It seems familiar but I can't seem to find it. The other side is too far gone. Any ideas?

Here's a site for Tokens, the county or nearest town may help to narrow down the search

Think you might need to do the pencil trick - rub a pencil over it and the lead will highlight the design

What an interesting design, it looks like a commemorative medal.
