These scales are primarily for photographing finds rather than for use in giving a scale for finds ID.

You need image software such as photoshop (or paint.net which I use) so as to manipulate and resize your image before superimposing it onto the scale. Can be a bit of a faff at first but you soon get used to it and it all looks very profeshneal in the end.

Apparently, there are plans to publish these scales on the PAS recording guides in the future. They range from 2cm to 300cm and if anyone would like a particular size before they're available on PAS, just gis a shout.

PS: you have no idea how alien it is for me to us cm rather than mills or inches which I use all day every day. Something about cm causes me brain fade

Nice one!
I'll just add that if anyone prints them off then it is best to check the scale against a measure in case they need resizing. Different print programs can have very different parameters. But resizing the find to fit the scale figures too!
Good things come to those who wait.
