Hi all,

I recently purchased a thimble display case from eBay and on the cheap and decided to try and tart it up and repurpose it, knowing that if I messed it up it’d be no great loss. Pretty happy with the result!

Took out the compartments and replaced with leather lined shelves and backing (I thought royal blue was fitting for kings and queens).

All thoughts welcome :)

P.S coin stands were from Swing ‘N’ Dig Detectorist- highly recommend!

Cheers,
Will

Very nice. What did you use for the little coin-stand thingies?

That looks great, shows the coins off well against the dark backdrop.

These are the display stands, they are available in small, large, and tiny ones for cut halves - a great price too!

Thanks for that link. It's very much appreciated. He does quite a range of stands, some very unique indeed...

That's come out really well! I am looking for a way to display some milled silver coins to free up room in my cabinet, and this looks ideal...Might even be able to add some battery operated LEDs to make even more striking...

Personally, I would have added a mirror to fit at the back of the inside cabinet to show the reverses of the coins as well and like someone said a few led lights around it to illuminate it as and when.

Still a nice piece. Well done!

That's a lovely way to display your Hammered finds . Thank you I shall keep a lookout for something similar to also repurpose. Though I've only found 1 hammered so far  but only been detecting 3 months Gill
