Thanks chaps,the button is one of the local mobs,the Acland Hoods.
The Aclands are from Devon and the Hoods were nautical,one of them was one of Nelsons admirals I believe.

Just been looking up the family on the livery button trying to see if i could find a lead to the one you posted a time back with the letter B me and my shots but no luck
While looking i came across this https://europeanheraldry.org/united-kin ... ouse-hood/ i do not know if you have seen it but shows a nice timeline and coats of arms perhaps you have or will find livery buttons with crests like on some of them
Also shows where Earl Nelson joins the mob
Have decided the B is short for Baron Bridport and put it to Beeeeedddddd
