I’m curious about which ones the Fitzwilliam museum acquired

There was an Anglo Saxon hoard sold last month that was expected to go for £20-30k but sold for £80k. It’ll be interesting to see what the total is for this one.
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

"The two detectorists who found the coins have been searching together for 20 years, and previously had only found copper coins and crotal bells in the field."

Miss it by an inch might as well be in the next field. :D

Wise words  They say the finds were in a 30m2 area, I would guess they actually mean an area 30m x 30m rather than an area 1m x 30m or 2m x 15m .............but an area 30m across is very easy to never venture onto in years on a permission and even if you detect across it, its very easy to miss all the coins in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th time going accross ...........there is still hope

So why was the whole hoard not declared treasure ? Did the two museums just pick the best coins and discard the rest ?
